Figures show that 11 of the wolds 18 penguin species are decreasing in numbers. This is mainly due to global warming, penguins are mainly located in the southern hemisphere which is one of the fastest warming places on earth. Also due to the sea ice melting the penguins food has decreased. Emperor penguin colonies have halved in number over the past 50 years.
